I am currently a senior clinician at one of North America’s only public-funded Adult ADHD psychiatric clinics. This job has offered me the opportunity to train with Canada’s leading Psychiatrists and allied health professionals in the field of Adult ADHD, and facilitate their Adult ADHD executive functioning skills group. I have worked with and reviewed over a thousand cases of Adults with ADHD (and other diagnoses). I am confident to say that I am an Adult ADHD clinical counsellor specialist.

I have been working in the mental health field for over 25 years. My formal training includes a master’s degree in Clinical Counselling and specialized coursework in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MCBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Somatic-based Trauma Therapy (ongoing training). I have completed my clinical supervisor training, and awaiting certification. I have been a clinical counsellor in public health since 2014, which has allowed me to gain many years of clinical supervision on a wide variety of mental health and therapeutic modalities.

My Approach

I provide quality, trauma-informed care based on the best practices in the field. My job is to create a space which you feel safe and vulnerable to be yourself. I strongly believe in behavioural activation — pendulating safely into past or future experiences while incorporating new, effective coping skills.

My personal journey began as a settler in a small community on the Six Nation territory, the land of the Algonquins people, also known as the Gatineau Hills of Quebec. Inspired by the stories I heard about the West Coast from my mother, I moved here in my mid-20s, seeking love,  adventures and community. As a visitor to this land, I would like to acknowledge the traditional, unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nations, where I work, play and rent my home.

When I’m not reading or researching, I love listening to music, binging a good tv series, walking my dog with my spouse, exploring nature or thrifting with my child, chatting with a neighbour about our gardens or enjoying a good nap.
